ROGGIA FARM, our rating 3*
More Pictures >>
Roggia is a new developing farm
in the north
of Corfu. It is
organic
with a range of local trees, plants & animals
with the aim of applying biodynamic farming in the future. It is a welcoming
change to the island's
rural tourism.
A lot of thought & reading goes into every process at Roggia, for crops & animals, to achieve the
best and most natural process. Organic farming sounds complex & new, yet it is based on old farm
traditions & gets effortlessly combined with traditional ways of
cooking.
Nikos, the owner of the
farm, is a young guy and to him organic
farming is a life-style. Lina is his mother and the
one who brings the knowledge of the old in cooking & farming. 2008
is the first year the farm they will welcome guests.
At Roggia you will be the one to
decide how much you wish to get involved with the activities, you can help with the animals
& the
land, or you can
simply watch the
activities. You can take part in
cooking or eat with the family.
A visit to the farm for a few days is a must for
all, young & old, families
& couples. It is educational,
calming, it is human & real, a wonderful break from our tiring
routine. I would recommend a week or two here (if you cannot manage
forever) to absolutely anyone.
